The county town of Suffolk is Ipswich, which is also one of the biggest in the area too with a population of around 135,000, not incluing the overspill area.
One of Englands oldest towns, during the Roman empire, it was an important route from the sea to get further inland.
Ipswich began to form as a modern town during the AngloSaxon era in around the 7th Century, with the hub being the dock.
During recent years, the town has enjoyed extensive renovation and is now a commercial and residential hub.
