BLUEFISH444 RoHS COMPLIANT
S. Melbourne, Australia, -August 7, 2006 – Bluefish444 today announced that its entire product line is 100% RoHS compliant for sales into EC member countries.
Since July 2006 the European directive on the restriction of certain hazardous substances (RoHS) bans the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The EC directive 2002/95/EG bars the following substances in the production process: cadmium, chromium VI, lead, mercury, PBB, and PBDE. The directive aims at promoting lead-free soldering of components and at banning toxic flame-retardants in cable production for the sake of alternative, environmental-friendly products.
After a long period of intense checks, control, and test procedures, Bluefish444 was able to integrate RoHS-compliant components in its production process. All Bluefish444 products now comply with the EC directive. Integrating RoHS-compliant components into the Bluefish444 product line has not resulted in any change in product functionality or reliability.
Craige Mott, Managing Director of Bluefish444, states, "We're pleased to announce that our products are RoHS compliant. As a company we are committed to producing products that not only meet the rigorous standards of the film and broadcast industries, but also products that are environmentally friendly. As other nations also adopt environmental standards, we will work to ensure that our products meet those as well."
Bluefish444 made its first ROHS compliant product sales into EC member countries in July 2006.
Bluefish444 will introduce a number of new products at the upcoming IBC exhibition in Amsterdam September 8-12, 2006. All new products, as well as current ones, are RoHS compliant.
